About Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh, in the western Himalaya. Two of the tours centre on Manali — the Hadimba Devi and Manu temples, the Tibetan monastery and Vashisht village, with an excursion to the Solang Valley for its snow and adventure sports, and a run down the Kullu valley to the Pashmina shawl factories and the hot springs at Manikaran. One continues over to Shimla for the Ridge, Christ Church, Jakhu Temple and the short hop to Kufri. The third tour covers the Kangra and Chamba side of the state: the Dalai Lama Temple and Norbulingka Institute at Dharamshala, Bhagsunath and its waterfall above McLeodganj, then Dalhousie, the meadows at Khajjiar and Chamera Lake. Tours begin at Delhi or Pathankot depending on the itinerary. Please note that the Rohtang Pass, the Atal Tunnel and Sissu are all at extra cost, and that Rohtang requires a permit issued on the spot and is closed on Tuesdays.
