Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur & Mount Abu
Overview
Our longest tour: ten days from Delhi across the Golden Triangle and down into southern Rajasthan. Delhi and Agra open the itinerary — India Gate and the Lutyens buildings, Humayun's Tomb and the Qutub Minar, then Sikandra, the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Itimad-ud-Daulah's tomb, the "Baby Taj". Fatehpur Sikri and Buland Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world, sit on the road to Jaipur, where Amber Fort is reached by elephant. From Jaipur the tour flies to Udaipur for three days among the lakes — the City Palace museum and Crystal Art Gallery, the Jagdish Temple, Sahelion ki Bari, the Pratap Memorial and a boat ride on Lake Pichola. It closes at Mount Abu, at 1,200 metres, for Nakki Lake, the 11th-century Dilwara Jain temples and Sunset Point, returning to Udaipur for the flight home.
