Temples, Terraces & Nusa Penida

Overview

Seven days in Bali, split between the coast at Kuta and the hills of Ubud. From Kuta the tour takes in the Garuda Wisnu Kencana park and Uluwatu's sunset Kecak dance, the lake temple of Ulun Danu and Tanah Lot, and a full day by boat on Nusa Penida's west coast. The last two days are spent in Ubud, with the Bird Park, the Kintamani volcano viewpoint and the Tegalalang rice terraces.

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. 1

   Bali Arrival – Kuta (15 km · 30 min)

   Arrive at Bali airport, where you will be met and driven to your hotel in Kuta. The rest of the day is free; overnight in Kuta.

2. 2

   GWK Park & Uluwatu Kecak Dance (about 1 hr)

   Visit the Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural park and its giant statue, then continue to Uluwatu Temple on the cliffs for sunset and the Kecak dance. Overnight in Kuta.

3. 3

   Ulun Danu, Handara Gate & Tanah Lot (about 2 hrs)

   Drive into the hills to the lake temple of Ulun Danu Beratan and the Handara Gate, returning by way of Tanah Lot for sunset. Overnight in Kuta.

4. 4

   Nusa Penida West Island Day Trip (fast boat · 45 min)

   Cross by fast boat to Nusa Penida for Kelingking Beach, Angel's Billabong, Broken Beach and Crystal Bay, with a local lunch on the island. Return to Bali in the evening; overnight in Kuta.

5. 5

   Kuta – Ubud & Bali Bird Park (35 km · 1½ hrs)

   Check out and drive inland to Ubud, stopping for a full day at Bali Bird Park. Overnight in Ubud.

6. 6

   Kintamani, Tegalalang & Ubud Palace (about 1 hr)

   Drive up to the Mount Batur viewpoint at Kintamani, then visit Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Tegenungan Waterfall and Ubud Palace on the way back. Overnight in Ubud.

7. 7

   Bali Departure (40 km · 1½ hrs)

   After breakfast, check out and transfer to Bali airport for your flight home.
